
Are you a senior and looking forward to applying to college? The first thing you will want to do is to fill out your FAFSA form. This can help you pay for college by helping you qualify for one (or more) of the following:
-Financial aid
-Scholarships
-Grants
-Work study
-Student loans
The 2022-23 FAFSA opens up on October 4th. The FAFSA is a very simple process and should take no more than 30 minutes to complete and help you save hundreds or thousands of dollars in college tuition. The first thing you will need to do in order to complete the FAFSA is to create an FSA ID, a username and password combination. When you are ready to sit down and fill out the FAFSA make sure you have the following documents information handy:
Your Social Security number
Your parents Social Security numbers
Your driver's license number
Your Alien Registration number if you are not a US citizen
Federal tax information or tax returns including IRS W-2 information for you and your parents: -IRS 1040 -Foreign tax return, IRS 1040 NR or IRS 1040NR-EZ -Tax return for Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the US Virgin Islands, the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, or Palau
Records of your untaxed income, such as child support received, interest income, and veterans noneducation benefits, for you, and for your parents if you are a dependent student
Information on cash; savings and checking account balances; investments, including stocks and bonds and real estate (not including the home in which you live); and business and farm assets for you, and for your parents
